New York University green lights their top archaeologists – Talula and Leif Erickson to head up the archeological dig of ancient waterways near Machu Picchu in Peru. They both have a secret wish to find the Incan emerald stone. They meet their guide, Miles, who works for the CIA but poses as a guide with great interest in what they are looking for. Throughout the adventure both Talula and Leif dream of their daughter Olivia – Spirit Traveler -who has not yet been born. She leads them to the Incan Emerald where the Ericksons’ encounter jaguar priests who are shapeshifters intent on returning the power to Pachacuti, the ruler of the ancient Inca empire.
